How to Enter

Miss Leeds Area 2012

Dear Contestants,

You are invited to enter the Miss Leeds Area 2012 and Miss Leeds Area
Outstanding Teen Scholarship program to be held on
Saturday, June 18, 2011
at Leeds High School Leeds, Alabama.  Miss Leeds Area is an open pageant and
young women between the ages of 17 and 24 by December 31, 2012 are eligible
to enter.  Each participant must never have been married and must be of good
moral character.

Miss Leeds Area is a one day pageant.  Contestants will be asked to arrive at
8:00 a.m. and will stay until the evening’s pageant is complete.
Each contestant will need a black cocktail dress for the opening number.
The theme of this year's pageant will be "That's Entertainment".  
Both lunch and dinner are provided at the school.  In addition to qualifying as a
contestant in the Miss Alabama 2012 Pageant, the winner of this pageant will join
a long line of other successful Miss Leeds Area winners in service to the Leeds
community.  The winner and runners-up will receive cash and in-kind scholarships
and prizes.

The Miss Leeds Area organization will once again host the Rising Star program for
its contestants.  Young girls between the ages of 7 and 11 will participate in an
afternoon event, and will be a part of the show on Saturday evening.  
The fee is $50 for the Rising Stars.  
They will be  randomly drawn from a hat by the newly crowned Miss Leeds Area
(unless a contestant specifically requests a Rising Star on their application).
The $375 fee for the Rising Star to participate in the Miss Alabama Pageant will be paid.  
It is very important if you have a Rising Star that you contact them and
have them enter our event.  
Miss Leeds Area will be required to take the Rising Star to Miss
Alabama from this pageant.

2011 - 2012 Miss Alabama Pageant Requirements and Forms
local pageant, you must raise a minimum of $100 for each local pageant you enter up to a total of $400.  Once you have raised a total of $400, you are not required to
raise more money and can enter as many local pageants for which you qualify in the current pageant year.  However, the $400 is just a minimum; you may raise more
money for CMN if you wish to do so.

To administer the CMN fundraising, each contestant must do the following:
1.      Create your personal web page on the CMN web site (see the CMN MAO Guide.pdf below for details).
2.      Raise the required funds for CMN.
3.      Print out proof of money raised to bring with you to the local pageant, or mail it in with your other paperwork.  Your minumum CMN funds need to be posted to your
CMN personal fundraising page before the day of the pageant.  Checks should be made out to CMN (not the local pageant).  Please try to avoid bringing a check with
you the day of the pageant.

To enter a Miss Alabama Local Pageant the following items are required:
1.      Contestant Resume (REVISED VERSION FOR 2010-2011)
2.      Contestant Platform Essay
3.      Contract Acknowledgement (see link below)
4.      Local Contract (contact each local pageant for their local contract)
5.      Photo (contact each local pageant for their photo requirements)
6.      Proof of Children’s Miracle Network fundraising (see Contract Acknowledgement)

any changes must be made at the time of completing the form.  After completing the forms, print them, make copies, and use them to enter the local pageants.  Please
send six copies of the Contestant Resume and Contestant Platform Essay to the individual pageants you enter.
