Miss Leeds Area 2010 Miss Jamie Brooks
|

Hello!
My name is Jamie Brooks. I am a twenty year-old sophomore at the University of North Alabama, majoring in Broadcast
Journalism and Public Relations. At UNA, I am involved with Freshman Forum, Student Government Association, the
Honors Program, Residence Life Association, the George Lindsay Film Festival, and Public Relations Council of Alabama.
On October 3, 2009, I was crowned Miss Leeds Area 2010. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I feel extremely
honored to represent the city of Leeds, Alabama. On June 9-12, I will compete in the Miss Alabama Pageant at Samford
University. Wish me luck!
My personal platform is Dare to Discuss: AIDS Awareness and Advocacy. I created this educational program in 2005,
during my sophomore year of high school, after meeting victims of this terrible pandemic who were as young as 17 years
old. I now consider it my duty to promote AIDS awareness and healthy decision-making. I am a HIV/AIDS advocate and
I will forever be.
I thank you for taking the time to visit my website, www.daretodiscuss.com. Please feel free to contact me if I can
ever be of any assistance!
Be blessed,
Jamie Brooks
